Usage notes
The Canadian Oxford Dictionary uses the spelling Metis, but Métis with the acute accent is used officially by organizations such as the Métis National Council and the Government of Canada.

- (Greek mythology) The personification of "Wisdom". Daughter of the Titans Oceanus and Tethys. She was a Titan, but not one of the first twelve Titans. First spouse of Zeus, and the mother of Athena, goddess of wisdom. She symbolises the divine wisdom.
