How hard are the Spanish classes in a Spanish minor compared to fourth-year highschool Spanish?
Q. I'm planning on doing a Spanish minor when I start college next year. I'm in my four year of Spanish right now in highschool, it's Spanish 4. I was wondering if it gets much harder for a minor in college? Thanks.

A. If your school offers AP spanish I suggest you take it so you can get out of the easy courses in college, becuase believe it or not there are courses in college that is similar to begginers level in high school. I took four years of Spanish in high school and minoring in it. I would suggest practicing your listing and speaking becuase the upper levels the proffesors will speak complete Spanish and they do not want you speaking English. Hope this helps :)

What is the easiest way to learn spanish?
Q. My boyfriend is Mexican and I'd like to be able to talk to him in Spanish. :) He has taught me a handful of Spanish, but I'd like to be able to have actual conversations with him in Spanish. Any suggestions on what the easiest way to learn Spanish is? Oh! and how long do you think it will take to learn? Thank you!

A. you already have the very best resource right next to you!, your boyfriend. ask him to practice Spanish with you. furthermore i suggest: - Spanish music with lyrics (ask boyfriend for translations) - free Spanish courses online - spanish movies with english subtitles and other way around - maybe 1 or 2 full home study courses. regarding time... really depends on the person. You are in luck having a Spanish speaking boyfriend which can certainly speed up things all the best

What is the best way to teach toddlers Spanish?
Q. I have two sons, turning 2 and 4 in less than a month. They understand a few words in Spanish and use them when they have to. I am bilingual and never made a really good habit of speaking Spanish exclusively in our home =( I really want them to learn it, and be fluent. What are the best ways to teach children the language, besides speaking to them, and making them speak back in Spanish? Thank you!

A. Have them listen to a lot of Spanish, whether through the radio, television programs, etc. This will help the brain to become acclimated to the language, and if they want to learn it academically, they will have an easy time picking it up. It's kind of like when pregnant women make their babies listen to French in the womb. My dad really did this well by recording tapes of basic Spanish and making me listen to them in my mind-free, hands-busy moments; such as when I was drawing or playing. Talk to them in Spanish. Maybe have a few handy terms that you can use all the time. Like when you're going to say, "Let's go." or "We're going to the park." You could say them in Spanish instead.
